Since beginning my journey with Block 5, I have experienced many situations and involvements that have only helped build my career. Working for a highly regarded management consulting company, I have learnt that it is not only what you produce that matters, it’s who you produce it with.

Block 5 have a number of highly experienced industry veterans with knowledge well beyond their years. These senior team members draw upon their experiences to deliver outstanding results for their clients. This projects an impressive aura around them to us newer members of the team. Constantly in awe of their ‘out of the box’ thinking, I find myself continually observing and taking copious notes of how to achieve that perceived level of greatness.

Despite the image they project to us newbies, they remain grounded and humble. The experience they have attained during their time in the industry has encouraged their teaching and nurturing of those of us just starting out – the creation of protégé’s. They encourage deeper thinking of alternative methods and ways of thinking, forcing us to remove our blinkers and see other paths to travel.

On my journey, I have been lucky enough to walk straight into the Procurement as a Service team. This entails a team of Block 5 members integrating seamlessly into an existing business with the sole purpose of revolutionising procurement. Having the Block 5 Managing Director as well as two other experienced team members working on site beside me has been an outstanding experience. Starting my journey on a client site has enabled me to absorb information at an incredible rate due to the guidance and instruction from my team around me. It has helped me integrate into corporate life and pick up the necessary skills for survival in the corporate jungle.

Having a whole Block 5 team on site is also hugely beneficial to the host business. They can be sure that the procurement team is functioning at the same capacity and efficiency level, alleviating any down time in the absence of a team member.

The experience I have gained during my brief time at Block 5 has been astounding and has progressed my career tenfold. The experience and knowledge shared throughout the entire team is outstanding, even more so when you consider the abundant people skills and patience they possess. Block 5 are experts in their field and are certainly one to watch!
